It’s been our privilege to work with Feeding America San Diego in developing their new website and organization mascots. The San Diego operation is leading the way among the many branches in the national organization in developing more effective branding and communication tools. We also designed their interactive annual reports for 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
Among our goals with the website was to clearly organize the content so it was easily accessible to the organization’s various audience groups—donors, distribution partners and clients. We were also asked to create a mascot for the organization, to be used in various communications to clients and partner agencies. Our initial design directions eventually grew into a family of mascot elements, representing food and the distribution process. Named Weelz and the Nutrition Crew (or theNu Crew for short), the mascot characters offer flexibility of use, as they can be portrayed separately or together.
